He's the group's 'Silver Fox' and 'Tour Guide Extraordinaire' and John Brown is also a former lobster fisherman. JB has lived and worked in Port Isaac for half a century and his family have been fishing there for as long as reliable records go back.
Since retiring from fishing John has set up PORT ISAAC TOURS giving guided tours that take you around the hidden paths of Port Isaac, taking in Doc Martin locations, historical buildings, fishing, past and present. You can get more information HERE or book your tour in 'May Contain Nuts' in Port Isaac.
John has also been involved with the filming on Doc Martin, Saving Grace and Poldark.
His latest venture, along with his brother and fellow band-mate Jeremy, is a sea safari tour on their Rigid Inflatable Boat, taking in the sights and sounds around the North Cornish coastline.
For health reasons John doesn’t travel with the band on their UK Tour Dates but can regularly be seen singing with the Bouys at their ‘local’ gigs.
THE HUMBLE AND FUNNY-LOOKING BLENNY (KNOWN LOCALLY AS A MOLE) WHICH WAS THE FIRST FISH JB LEARNT TO CATCH.
THE ONE FROM 'MOBY DICK' AS THEY'RE LEAVING..... NOTHING QUITE LIKE LEAVING PORT!
JB IS BECOMING A BIT OF A TWITCHER (BIRDER, ORNITHOLOGIST.... CALL IT WHAT YOU WILL)..... ALTHOUGH HE HAS LEARNT THAT THERE IS A STRICT PECKING ORDER!
AT THE TENDER AGE OF 18, JB WENT TO THE DOCTORS THINKING HE WAS HAVING A HEART ATTACK. IT TURNS OUT THAT HE WAS ACTUALLY SUFFERING WITH A CASE OF "TRYING TO HOOT WITH THE OWLS & SOAR WITH THE EAGLES".... MAYBE THAT'S WHY HE'S NOW TAKEN UP TWITCHING.
